You've completed the Core Curriculum of Faraway's Performance Path, and now it's time to move on to more challenging improv forms and concepts. This Advanced Study class will focus on using premise-based initiations in our scene work to create dynamic scenes that explore the source material through the improviser's unique comedic voice. The showcase form is the Armando, which uses monologues as the inspiration for scenes.
In order to sign up for this class, you must have completed 501.
This is a 6-week class on Sundays from 12–3 p.m., starting on February 2.
- Thursday, March 6, at 9 p.m.
- Friday, March 14, at 9 p.m (closing out Faraway's Winter Performance Week)
Attention all students: By enrolling in a workshop, or drop-in you consent to both following Faraway Theater's Code of Conduct and allowing us to use images of you taken during class on our social media platforms.
By enrolling in our classes students will also have access to discounted/free shows and jams for the length of their entire term. - House Nights, jams, and Bad Gladys are free for active Students
- All other Friday shows are half-off (unless otherwise stated)

Students on our Performance Path (101-501) will be responsible for the following:
- Absentee Policy: If you have more than 2 absences and plan to move on to the next class, you must retake the class.
- Show Requirement: You are required to see at least two improv shows (not student jams) at Faraway to move on to the next class.

There are no class refunds available at this time. Faraway Theater is located at
1211 27th Pl S Suite 20, Birmingham, AL 35205. Parking is available in the lot and on the street. The entrance is located past the Electra film lab drop-box. The theater is primarily accessed by stairs, so please email
